Reimagining the Landscape of Faith
Essential pathways for spiritual growth
How's your faith journey going?
Have you been wandering the same landscape of your Christian faith for some time now… maybe wondering if there should be more to it?
Or have you started to sense that the familiar landmarks like prayer and worship have grown less fulfilling, and you find yourself on unfamiliar ground?
Perhaps you've reached the edge of your 'mental map' of faith...
These are questions we’ve wrestled with ourselves, and have worked through with others in our role as Spiritual Directors.
If that's you, we’d like to offer a space to reflect and have suggested some pathways for growth in spiritual maturity, recently published as Reimagining the Landscape of Faith.
From time to time, we’ll also post something on our BLOG that offers a prompt towards growing in self-awareness and God-awareness in everyday life.
How can our book help you?
This book is aimed at those Christians who feel that their early understanding of faith is somehow failing to meet expectations as they face the realities of life.
We offer an understanding of how Christians work psychologically and spiritually as human beings and how that plays into their spiritual development, something that is often missing from traditional church culture.
And we help people to see that the well-known features of their faith can change quite dramatically over time... an experience that can lead to confusion, doubt, or isolation without help to interpret its ultimate value as part of God’s invitation to grow.
'Using practical tools rooted in ancient wisdom, Charles and Mary help us to see how our experiences and assumptions have informed the maps we use to make sense of our lives – and encourage us to be cartographers who navigate the world with skill, empathy and grace.' Tim Yearsley, Head of Innovation, London Institute for Contemporary Christianity
'As an African Pentecostal marrying an Anglo-French Catholic my life – and understanding of God – has expanded far beyond the narrow boundaries I once set for myself. Much of this transformation I owe to the spiritual tools outlined in this book and the insights of its authors. This book will guide you further and deeper on your spiritual pilgrimage.' Amoge Ukaegbu, anti-trafficking and modern slavery professional
'As I read Reimagining the Landscape of Faith, it was as if two wonderfully gifted spiritual directors were guiding me along the past, present and future of my own faith journey. This is a refreshing and profound exploration of spirituality, brilliantly combining insights from scripture, theology, psychology and, of course, cartography.' The Revd Dr Simon Steer, Chaplain, Abingdon School, and former Principal at Redcliffe College, Gloucester and The London School of Theology
